***Please Note*** If you contact me through Learn to Burn School of Music in Spokane, or if I teach you from my Spokane location, even if I teach you online, I am contractually obligated to charge Learn to Burn fees and teach you under that client contract.
Lesson Fees for Noree's Home or Learn to Burn — In Person and Online
Noree's Voice and Piano Studio and Learn to Burn School of Music charge monthly tuition for a weekly time slot. There is no extra charge for months with five lessons instead of four. Tuition is due at the first lesson of the month. There will be a $10 per week late fee for tuition not received at the first lesson. When students start lessons in the middle of the month, or in the case of months with major holidays, reduced tuition will be prorated at $60 per instruction hour. With a few rare exceptions, lessons are not billed individually.
Monthly Tuition:
$120 for 30-minute private lessons
$180 for 45-minute private lessons
$240 for 60-minute private lessons
Most teen and adult students take 45-minute lessons for voice or piano. Teen and adult students wishing to take both voice and piano should start with 60-minute lessons. Younger piano or general music students should start with 30-minute lessons until Noree deems them ready for longer times.
Lessons missed by Noree will be made up, or tuition will be applied to the following month or pay period.

You will receive the complete contracts for Learn to Burn or Noree's home at your first lesson. That said, here are the general lesson policies:
Payment Options:
If you are at Learn to Burn School of Music or at Noree's home, tuition is due at the first lesson of each month for the whole month. The student pays for a slot on the calendar, not for the lesson itself. Studying voice requires a long term commitment from both the teacher and student. Some progress may be made with a few lessons, but the most effective are scheduled weekly lessons. I only take students who are willing to commit to at least two months. Beyond that, both locations have a one month notice policy for discontinuation of lessons, so please plan accordingly if you are unable to continue. I do not give refunds at any location.
I prefer cash or check. I also accept credit and debit cards in person and on my website for a small fee. All electronic payments are secured by PayPal or Venmo.
I am sensitive to summer vacation plans, so my summer lesson policies are slightly different than the ones listed here. Please contact me to discuss.
Cancellations:
Music students make the most progress with consistent lesson attendance and practice. That said, I am interested in more than just excellent musicianship, and recognize that "progress" can be defined many ways. I will never ask you to apologize for how, when, or how often you practice. If music lessons bring joy into your life, make your life richer, or are your "happy place," I am here for that! But because lessons are my only source of income, I will ask for your attendance to be consistent, regardless of how you feel about your practice time.
I do not give make-up lessons or tuition credits for anything other than medical/family emergencies. If the lesson is canceled, even in advance, you forfeit the fee. I realize that this seems extreme, but this is standard business practice for private music teachers. Here is a great explanation of this practice. However, if you give me more than 24 hours advance notice of a conflict and if I have another open slot available I may offer to reschedule a lesson for a different day or time. If snow very literally does not allow you out of your driveway or your street, be prepared to have your lesson on Zoom or another online platform that day. If you are in the hospital as a patient or family member, I will not charge you for that lesson. Do not cancel due to lack of practice.
If you are in a play, choir, or other kind of performance I will not charge you for missed lessons due to performances or rehearsals so long as you give me the dates you will miss many weeks in advance. This does not apply to events scheduled at the last minute such as pick-up rehearsals. Most of the time we will be able to reschedule these lessons, so that will be the priority. If we can't reschedule, I won't penalize you for using your music lessons in a performance!
I realize it is sometimes difficult to gauge whether one should cancel a lesson or not, especially when it comes to illness. Do not hesitate to contact me to discuss your concerns. There are many things we can work on in your lesson if you have a sore throat, and we can always switch to a Zoom lesson. Please only miss your lesson if you cannot get out of bed, even if you missed school that day. Either way, let me know if you will miss or are running late so I am not worried about you.
